Friday nights are date night. Jeff and I usually go to dinner and sometimes we catch a show or go to a play. Tonight we had to alter our plans a little because Lexi's softball team played in their first city tournament game. We all went to the game to cheer for Lexi and the other Lakers and we ended up walking away the victors! Lakers won 4-0. I'm always impressed after the games when I watch the team do this:
Players and coaches meet at home plate to give "high fives" and tell the other team that they played a good game. There are always smiles and compliments and I leave feeling grateful that my kids are learning how to be good sports and are learning to be gracious - win or lose.
After the game, I left with Jeff and we were on our way to get some fideo from Cafe Rio - our usual Friday night stop {my husband has a slight obsession} Jeff mentioned that he wanted to go see "The Hunger Games" at the theater so I sent a text to the kids letting them know that we were going to go see a movie after dinner.
Well...this is how date night ended up
Jeff and I eating fideo on the lawn at the theater
along with this bunch.
Yup - date night with the whole family!
