End of year program

The past two weeks have been busy ones! I have been to preschool graduation, the 4th grade talent show and end of year awards program, the 1st grade program and graduation, etc...We've had something every day it seems. I wanted to share a short video clip of Lexi at her 1st grade program. Its a darling poem about how hard it is to pay attention when you're a 1st grader.

The end of the school year brings mixed emotions for me. On the one hand, I am excited to spend time with my kids at the pool, going on fun "field trips" and doing projects at home. On the other hand, I know that my family does better with schedules and structure and it's hard for me to stay focused all summer long. It seems like the petty fights and bickering set in all too soon and then I am counting down the days for school to start again! I am determined to be better this year and stick to a schedule all summer. I have planned trips to the zoo, weekly visits to the library, short hikes on some of the nearby trails, etc. I have also purchased math and reading workbooks for each child and I am going to set aside a few minutes for "homework" every morning. I am hoping this helps us have a great summer together - wish me luck!

Cute poem! I have the same mixed emotions about summer. We'll have to plan lots of fun outings!
