I ordered 3 bushels of peaches and we got a call on Wednesday saying they were ready to pick up! I had a busy Thursday working two jobs, going to a dentist appointment, getting Coleman to and from school and then two soccer games in the evening. So I got up bright and early on Friday with every intention of getting the peaches finished before my kids got home from school, but I had a few things I needed to do and a couple of errands to run and I was supposed to be babysitting my niece..so peaches didn't get started until closer to 12:30 p.m. My wonderful nephew came down to help me and stayed for about 4 1/2 hours to help me get through the first 2 bushels. I ran out of propane and we had to be heading out to Alpine for Fete Day, so I cleaned up what I could and left the rest for Sat. morning. So, again, bright and early on Sat. morning, I got started and before noon - all of the peaches were bottled, the mushy peaches were combined with a little lemon juice and some sugar and made into fruit leather and the kitchen was all cleaned up! I got 81 quarts in all and I am pretty darn proud of myself...they look beautiful! But there was no time to spare....the kids were waiting in the car to go to the "safety fair". Not only did we get new toothbrushes and learn about how to get out of a burning house, but we picked up some new bicycle helmets for FREE!
Now I am home, doing laundry and watching BYU football and the best part is...I have nothing else on my "to-do" list tonight..except enjoy the evening with my family!

The peaches look great. I'm so impressed.
WOW - that's a lot of work! Go JODI!
I am jealous, I want your peaches!! Great job getting stuff done, I am trying to be as lazy as possible this weekend and then come Monday I have to get to work on 3 Halloween Costumes (I bought the 4th because I didn't want to make a Jedi costume!!). Anyway, great job on the peaches I really am jealous!
Wow! Your peaches look GREAT! I can't believe you what a great multi-tasker you are! I wish we lived next door and we could have canned together!
Hmmm. This all makes me a bit nervous. I'm canning for the first time this year - and even though I'm only doing 1 bushel of peaches, there's NO way that my little family can eat even 1/3 of what you canned. Guess you won't be needing any extras...!
Where do you PUT all those cans of peaches? I must say I'm impressed!
You're my hero!
I just love the look of a whole counter top full of bottled fruit. It just makes me feel good especially if you get to play and relax when you're done.
The peaches look amazing and I am way impressed with the amount of work you must have had to do to get that haul.
If I lived close I would so be sneaking over and stealing a bottle of peaches - they are making my mouth water.
WAY TO GO JODI! I am so impressed! Yet, nothing you do should surprise me any more, you over acheiver, you!
talk about super mormon mom!!! I am so impressed!!
