What we've been doing...

The past week and a half have been so busy - I feel like a whirlwind hit and I was caught in the middle of it! We've been having a lot of fun though...getting kids back to school, soccer season starting, the Quilt Show and a few lunch dates. So here are a few pictures of our last few adventures.First and most importantly...my baby started kindergarten! This was NOT an easy day for me. He has been my sidekick, my buddy, my lunch partner and my best friend for the last couple of years. It's just been me and him together for the past couple of years and I really felt an "emptiness" after dropping him off and walking out of the classroom! I didn't cry (teary eyed, but no tears falling) I thought I would...but he was SO excited, it was kind of hard to be sad. I was excited and happy for him to start on this "new adventure"! My friend took me to lunch to help pass the time and that was a BIG help! Thanks Les!
His teacher had a worksheet waiting on their desks and moms and dads got to help them measure their hands and feet and also measure how tall they were with a piece of yarn. We stapled the yarn to the worksheet and we will get to see how much he has grown at the end of the year! So far (3 days) he loves school - he was upset that this was a "long" weekend and he doesn't go on Monday!
Next on the list is soccer...Coleman and Lexi are both playing this year and it has been fun to watch their games. It's a little hectic for us - they play at different fields but on the same day and at the same time. I spend the whole time running back and forth taking pictures and cheering them on! This week, they both won their games! Coleman's was 2 - 0 and Lexi's was 1 - 0. Colman got to be the goalie for the first half of his game. He was all smiles... until he realized how boring it was - the ball really didn't even come close!

It was also my mom's birthday (she's 50 again...give or take 20 years) and Deanne and I spent the afternoon with her at the Springville Quilt show (the quilts are AMAZING!) and then we went to lunch at Hickory Kist. YUMMY! They have the best homemade bread! Happy Birthday Mom!

Fall softball season started a few weeks ago, so we head to to the ball park every Tuesday to support Brad and Jeff - and to buy the 5 cent suckers at the concession stand. My husband still thinks he's in his twenty's and slides into base and dives to catch the outfield balls. He has come home the last couple of weeks with bloody knees and limps around until Thursday...but it's one of his favorite things to do - and he says he has to play longer than his dad. (Ross quit at 46) It's going to be a LONG 4 years!

We've been busy, but having a lot of fun...together! When I really feel frazzled, I remind myself of President Hinckley's quote "Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured" and we are enjoying our journey!

Ok seriously I remember that little boy stinker of yours in the hospital his first day on earth. WOW and he does look happy. Just think of all the money you will save on not buying any more happy meals while all the other kids are in school. HEY, I took my laurels to the quilt show...such talent there.

I literally laughed out loud at the bored-Coleman shot. I love your kids. I know it's going to be rough without any kids at home, but feel free to borrow ANY of mine at ANY time...I'll have three 3 and under soon...sheesh.

Your family is so cute. Coleman looks so adorable standing in front of the goal! It sums up so well how i felt as a kid playing sports! haha.

Coleman looks like he is having a blast. I remember wanting to be goalie and it never is all it is cracked up to be!!
