It's the holiday season!

It's almost here! There's been a change in the weather and this morning, we woke up to the wonderful sight of "white" frosted grass. The cold has set in and it's only going to get colder - and that's a good thing! That means that Christmas is almost here!
There are so many things that I love about Christmas - the family, the music, the lights, the traditions. Some of my favorite traditions have to do with the "classic" Christmas movies they show on T.V. between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you need to get into the holiday spirit, or if you're just looking for something fun to watch with your kids, here are a few of my family's favorites!
Elf has been a favorite of mine since it first came out. I know that a lot of people don't enjoy Will Ferrell, but I think you should overlook your dislike for him and enjoy the show! This is one that my WHOLE family watches every Thanksgiving to get the holiday spirit into high gear!
The "Year Without A Santa Claus" is another winner in my book! I love Mr. Heat Miser and after watching this show, I have his song stuck in my head for about a week. We always check our T.V. schedule around the first of Dec. to make sure we tune in to see this one!

And last, but DEFINITELY not least, is my all time favorite Christmas movie. "White Christmas" is a movie I saw the first year we were married (17 years ago). I have a love for musicals and when you add Christmas to a musical, along with Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby, it's gotta be terrific - and this one is! I love the songs, the dancing, the 60's acting and everything else about this movie! Go check it out at your library or check your television listings and don't miss it this year!

So there you have it - 3 great movies to get you in the holiday spirit! Now, the only thing that would be better is if you all lived in Utah and we would go see the lights at Temple Square then come back to my house to have some hot chocolate and watch one of these great movies!

If you live close to me, call us and we'll make plans. If you don't live in Utah, leave a comment with your favorite holiday movies or traditions. I would love to hear what you do to make your holidays special!

I wish we were there - I would love to visit Temple Square and drink hot chocolate with you.

We watched Elf on Thanksgiving too - love the movie. Another favorite of the family is Miracle on 34th Street. We like the newer one with Elizabeth Perkins and Dylan McDermott. We love the adorable little girl - Mara Wilson.

I am ashamed to admit that I've never seen White Christmas. We'll watch it this year! I don't think my kids have seen Year Without a Santa Claus, either. We have a lot of watching to do!
