My friend, Amy, tagged me and I had to think about it for a while. I'm not quite sure what people know or don't know. So, here are 7 things you may or may not know about me.
#1 - I love to laugh! Not just giggle, but gut-bustin' laugh! I like to laugh until my cheeks hurt and my laugh is reduced to a tiny, almost inaudible squeal. It seems I only laugh this hard when I am with my family, especially my brother Doug.
#2 - I am addicted to reading...in the bathtub. The tub is my favorite place to read. I can't take a bath anymore without having a good 45 min. to an hour to sit and relax and read a good book. My favorite book is a toss up...it's between "The Robe" and "A Girl Named Zippy" They are two very different books, but I love them both equally - for different reasons.
#3 - I know that I am getting older and it scares me. I can feel my body starting to rebel against the things I want it to do. I have a very hard time with this! I am almost 37 and I have always hated the thought of being 40, it's always seemed so "middle age" to me. I don't like the idea of being middle aged. I would love to be a young vivacious, energetic mom until all of my kids are at least 15 or 16 years old. I know that some of what my body is feeling and doing is due to an auto-immune disease that I have, and I try not to let that affect my every day life...but some days I just can't help it! I'm getting old!
#4 - I LOVE music! Almost any kind. But I especially love Christmas music and I play it (loudly) year round. I don't ever put it away. I start listening to Christmas music constantly right after Halloween and I keep it going for as long as I can. (They usually stop playing it on the radio around New Years.) My favorite Christmas album is the "Andy Williams Christmas Album". It always gets me in a good mood and I can clean my house like no one's business when I am listening to "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year". So great!
#5 - I love night time. After my kids go to bed is MY time. I am finding that I am pretty selfish about MY time and I don't apologize for it. After 8:30 or 9:00, I slip into my favorite silky jammie's and slide into my bed. I usually turn on the t.v. and settle in with a good episode of "Life" (my new favorite series) and set my timer to turn the t.v. off after about an hour so that I can fall asleep if I get tired enough.
#6 - Unlike my friend Amy, I love movies. I enjoy all types, but I especially like the "feel-good, chick flick" kind of movies. My husband is a good sport and he will go with me, so we end up going to see movies on a lot of our date nights. I also enjoy old movies and musicals. Some of my favorites are 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, Pride & Prejudice, My Fair Lady, The King and I, Wait Until Dark and Little Women.
#7 - I love to go to see plays. I love how emotional and intense it can be with live theater, especially at the Hale Center Theater in Orem. The stage and audience are so close to each other and there are times I have felt like part of the cast! I get so sucked in by the acting, the costumes and the scenery. I admire people who can act or sing in front of a large audience without being nervous. I also admire the amount of time it takes to memorize all of their lines and the many hours they dedicate to practices and rehearsals. I especially love comedies or musicals.
So there you have it. 7 things about me!
