Little Miss

 My little Lexi was asked by a good friend of ours to be her "little miss" for the Miss Spanish Fork pageant last weekend. We went to all of the dance practices and dress rehearsals, we went shopping for a new dress, we had an appointment to get her hair done, etc...I thought maybe she had had enough - it had been a long couple of weeks. But, as we were in the car driving over to the pageant, Lexi said to me, "Mom, this is the best day of my life"!! I think this is what my little Lexi dreams of! A sparkling new dress, a beautiful up-do, the lights, being on stage with beauty queens and, the best part, she got her very own tiara!

Sadly, our friend Kassidy wasn't chosen for the royalty and poor Lexi was devastated! As soon as the pageant was over, she gave me a big hug and buried her head in my neck and started to cry. She wanted Kas to win! I think that would have been the perfect ending to the perfect day for her.

Kas was fine and told Lexi that even though she didn't win, she had fun and that was the most important thing! It's one of those "pay days" for moms when you see your children doing something that makes them SO happy!! So, I would have to agree with Lexi...it was one of the best days of my life!!
