We went to the County Jail tonight - and we each got our own pumpkin! The inmates plant a HUGE garden every year and then to make a little money, they invite County employees and their families to come down, have some hot chocolate and cookies and then go on a tractor ride out to the garden area.

We got to choose from hundreds (really...hundreds!) of cool pumpkins. I say cool because there were white ones, orange ones and even green ones! We got a little of everything...Coleman wanted one that was small and white, Lexi REALLY wanted green and the rest of us chose orange. The picture is a little blurry - but you can still see our cool pumpkins!
Can you see that?? That's SNOW! All of that white stuff is SNOW! I can't believe it...I still want fall - not winter yet! On the bright side...Brad is VERY happy to see snow because that means he will be snowboarding soon. I just hope it stays way up there on the mountain top!

I saw it and thought I was in a bad dream. That snow looks like bad news! :) Your family is so cute!
I am so jealous!!!! We don't even know what snow looks like here! The pumpkin farm is a great idea....what a wonderful way to keep the prisoners productive and let them see the law of the harvest while providing a fun activity for families!
The jail should add a spook house to the agenda. A bunch of prisoners on the loose with chainsaws...now THAT'S a way to make money.
We will be going to our pumpkin farm in a couple weeks. It is always so much fun. I can't believe you have snow on the mountains already!
That looks like SO MUCH FUN!!! Gotta love fall!
Why does that top picture look like it was taken in 1986?
Melissa...we DO live in SF! We are a little behind the times I suppose, but I didn't think '86ish - I was thinking more like '95ish.
I just looked again - and I know what it is. It's the haircut on the little blonde boy in front of the tractor! It's totally '86!
Riley, you look so cute in your glasses. Cute pictures- we miss you guys, we'll be home tomorrow! We need to get some pumpkins too.

Our mountains aren't as tall so we don't have as much snow on the top of them and it seems to be melting fast, I am not ready for winter either!
Excellent choices on the pumpkins! It looks like a fabulous fall day--even with the white stuff in the background.
Thanks for commenting on my blog! So which sister-Heidi, Kamala, Nicole, or Gina? Great family!
