This week has been a busy one! I am trying to get everything done so that we can fly away to Hawaii this weekend. I have to get everything arranged for our Stake dance this Saturday, I have about 60 hours of work to get finished by Friday and still have to find time to drive kids back and forth from to swim team, clogging, etc... I feel like one of those cartoons where everything starts spinning and then your head explodes! I have been a little short tempered and have found myself being pretty impatient with my kids and husband. I have said to myself more than once this week "slow down, take a deep breath, it will all work out" but new items keep creeping onto my "to do" list and then I stress!
Last night we were headed out to Jeff's softball game, but Kamryn wasn't home from day camp yet, so I decided that I would be the one to stay home and wait for her. I figured I could get some laundry done and unwind a little. I turned the t.v. on about 8:00 and began to watch "America's Got Talent". I'm not sure how many of you had the opportunity to watch, but I think this was a blessing in disguise for me! Some of the talent was horrific and the audience would boo. That's not the blessing part. The first "blessing" was this darling 4 year old girl that sang. You can see her video here. As I listened to her and watched the judges and her parents, I got tears in my eyes. What a tender little song and such a beautiful voice. The second "blessing" came while watching this guy.

You can see his video here. He has such an amazing voice! But what I loved most about him was the way that he cried when he talked about his mother. You could tell how much he loved her and how he wanted to make her proud. Then my thoughts turned to my own kids...I will not elaborate (because that would make me look bad!) But I will say that I have fallen short this week. So...I have refocused and have shifted my "to do" list so that the top of the list now reads "Play with the kids at the pool". And today, we will do just that! I am grateful that I watched t.v. last night! (I don't say that very often!)

My own 4 yr. old, Savannah, watched the clips with me and now she wants to know how to get on TV! She asked me for a song because she is "all out of song ideas right now"! Thanks for putting those on. I don't watch this show so I never would have seen them. Have fun in Hawaii and thanks for your encouraging words.
I teared up with the 4 year old too. I didn't see the opera guy but heard about him so I'm glad you had a link. You do just need to slow down or you will never recover. I hope you enjoy your vacation and relax a lot there.
Thanks for teaching me how to link! Worked like a charm!
I am the same way when packing for a trip. It gets pretty stressful so I totally understand. That little girl was so cute! I couldn't believe how mature she was. Have a great trip. It will be a blast!
My "to do" list seems to be getting longer, not shorter! I'm just impressed that you already have all the important matters taken care of. And I'm sure the opera guy's mom had weeks like you're having now!
