Jeff loves softball! He has played on a city league team almost every summer. This year was no exception - when May rolled around, the bat and glove came out, we brushed off the cleats and headed to the ball park. The girls and I pack up our "soft" stadium seats and blankets and line the bleachers in support of the "oldest member of the team". We are "yellers" and love to cheer for our dad! This year we are also cheering for another team member...Brad. When Jeff went to the 1st game of the season, our team was short a few players. They saw Brad in the bleachers and told him to suit up! Excitement beyond belief! So every week, we scream and yell and cheer for "El Scorchos". This week was no exception - it was a great game...with my husband, yes, "the oldest member of the team" being named the MVP and earning a 10% off coupon to Denny's. Life doesn't get any better!
Both of my boys had great hits all night and our team was on fire...Go El Scorchos!
I LOVE this picture of Brad crossing home plate. The catcher is jumping up to catch the ball to get him out just as he scores! GO BRAD!!!

HAHAHA. I heard about the Denny's certificate. Derek was so proud.
so was Brad the youngest on the team? That would be cool if you had the oldest AND youngest players. Is he going to keep playin on the team or was it just that one game?
Yes, Brad is the youngest team member and he will be playing all season! I have the oldest and the youngest players on the team!
El Scorchos rule! Love the name, and it looks like it fits. They were on fire! What a fun bonding time for the whole family.
Jared plays on a league too. I don't get to make it to most of his games. They start at 9 pm sometimes! A little late for me and the kids. I agree what great family bonding time! Sounds like a blast.
Great fun, Jodi! And Happy Anniversary (late). Next week makes 15 for Vaughn and me. Does that make us old?
