It is only 11:30 in the morning and it has already been "one of those days"! I have listened to tattling, refereed a few arguments, wiped away tears, cleaned up the kitchen only to have it a mess 5 minutes later and finished the laundry just in time to have Kamryn and Lexi clean their room and find 2 more loads for me to do! Now, I know that this is part of being a mom, but some days it is overwhelming and I start to lose patience! So I found myself in the kitchen (cleaning AGAIN!) singing the song "Favorite Things" from the Sound of Music and I got thinking about some of my favorite things. So I am at the computer posting on my blog...a much needed break! Here are a few of my favorite things!
This is one of my favorite photos of Coleman. It makes me smile every time I look at it!

This was one of my favorite Christmas mornings! Each of the kids got a new motorized scooter and couldn't wait to get out and ride so at 8:00 am they all bundled up and headed out! It was freezing and I could barely stand to watch them from the front porch! They had a blast!

This was one of my favorite family road trips. We were on our way to Washington for a family reunion and we stopped in every state to take a picture by something with the state name on it. This one ended up being my favorite of them all...I love Coleman's face and Lexi's "model" pose!
Some other favorites of mine:
*Friday dates with Jeff
*Reading a good book in the tub
*Christmas trips
*French toast with strawberries and whip cream
*A clean house
*Pay day
*A good roller coaster (Screamin' in Cal. Adventure is the BEST!)
So maybe tonight I will cash my check, go on a date with Jeff to get french toast with strawberries, come home and sit in the tub with my book and be thankful for the house that I cleaned all day and then go to bed and dream about our next Christmas trip or going on a roller coaster! I feel better now! Thanks for letting me vent...now back to being a mom!

Jodi, I got your email and then had to check if you posted something on your blog and you had!! I loved reading about your day. I can totally understand, especially the Kitchen, does that ever stay clean? And I thought I was the only one who "finished" laundry... just to have the kids bring up more loads!! But,we are all going through it and when you write about it I have to laugh and realize that its all a part of this great experience we are having! Thanks again for encouraging me to get started. It will be such fun!...Amy
Is that the infamous "lip gloss wipe out" scooter that Rylee is sitting on? Classic.
Where did Coleman learn to read on the pot? I'm glad you survived your fun day...and just think, you have a day filled with pre-teen girls to look forward to; lucky you!
I'm not exactly sure where Coleman learned to read on the toilet...I NEVER do that! And yes Melissa, that is the "lip gloss scooter". And now there is a "part two" to the story. Rylee had Coleman riding on the front the other day and she lost control and went off of the sidewalk into the grass only to have Coleman flip off and scrape up his knee and lip. He's healing nicely and we have now revoked Rylee's driving privileges!
