We just got back from spending 5 AMAZING days in Southern Alberta. The Dahl Family reunion was in Cardston this year and we had a great time exploring, hiking, visiting, eating, watching fireworks, going to the Raymond parade and stampede, catching up with cousins and making new friends! It was a fun filled week and we were sad to say goodbye when it was time to go. Some of our adventures were:
| Adding two new "welcome" signs to our family collection |
| Finally taking my children to Canada - it was the first time my 4 youngest children crossed the northern border |
| Taking my kids to Waterton to enjoy the same activities that I enjoyed during my childhood |
| We rented surrey's and rode them around town until we were tired - then we went and got some ice cream! |
| We loved the beautiful "Prince of Wales" hotel |
| The view from the back of the hotel |
Going to do baptisms for the dead with Ry, Kam and some extended family in the Cardston Temple
| Visiting both of my grandparents grave sites |
| Listening to my dad and my aunts and my uncle talk about their childhood and our amazing grandparents |
| Hiking with the family and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Southern Alberta |
Meeting new friends and staying at the "simply the best" place around!
It was an amazing trip - a much needed vacation - and a good reminder of who I am and where I come from. I'm looking forward to our next trip up North! |

So sad that we had to miss this trip. It sounds and looks like everyone had a great trip. Next time!
