Southern Alberta ~ Dahl Family Reunion

We just got back from spending 5 AMAZING days in Southern Alberta. The Dahl Family reunion was in Cardston this year and we had a great time exploring, hiking, visiting, eating, watching fireworks, going to the Raymond parade and stampede, catching up with cousins and making new friends! It was a fun filled week and we were sad to say goodbye when it was time to go. Some of our adventures were:

Adding two new "welcome" signs to our family collection
Finally taking my children to Canada - it was the first time my 4 youngest children crossed the northern border
Taking my kids to Waterton to enjoy the same activities that I enjoyed during my childhood
We rented surrey's and rode them around town until we were tired - then we went and got some ice cream!

We loved the beautiful "Prince of Wales" hotel
The view from the back of the hotel
Going to do baptisms for the dead with Ry, Kam and some extended family in the Cardston Temple
Visiting both of my grandparents grave sites
Listening to my dad and my aunts and my uncle talk about their childhood and our amazing grandparents
Hiking with the family and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Southern Alberta
Meeting new friends and staying at the "simply the best" place around!

It was an amazing trip - a much needed vacation - and a good reminder of who I am and where I come from. I'm looking forward to our next trip up North!
