Halloween at our house

Halloween was a fun, busy time at our house! I worked at "Jakers Jack-O-Lanterns" in Springville for the month of October so I was gone quite a bit, but the kids came to work with me one day and had a ton of fun!
We got to pick our own pumpkins
And play in the corn
Lexi found this creepy head in the straw maze
We got to pet the sheep, goats, llama and kangaroo
and go on a tractor ride
The best part...everything was FREE! We only had to pay for our pumpkins. I think it's something we will add to our "holiday traditions" and next year we'll call some cousins to come with us!
The Elemantary school celebrated Halloween on the Wednesday before the holiday because of parent/teacher conferences on Thursday and a Teacher Development Day on Friday - This is how the kids dressed up for school this year.
Lexi was a cute witch with blue sparkly eyes and crimped hair
And Coleman was a lethal Ninja
Brad had a dress-up party at work and he went as a Vampire
On Friday night I took the kids to a house in Lindon that puts on the "Nightmare Express" every year.
They have a train track that goes around their yard and they get their property decked out with Halloween decor. We waited in line for almost 2 hours to ride the train but they kept us entertained with cute monsters that were walking around
and they had some fun characters in the spook alley
At 9:00 p.m. - it was our turn to get on the train
The train ride was well worth the wait! We were chased by scarecrows, scared by skeletons, boo-ed by ghosts and even had the Headless Horseman swing at us with his sword! The whole experience was so much fun! This kind family and 200+ volunteers do this every year and don't charge a dime! We're planning to go again at Christmas time when they turn the Nightmare Express into the Polar Express!
We had a very Happy Halloween!!

What a neat service that family provides for your community! We have a pumpkin patch here that has all the same fun stuff, but they charge $11 per person to get in and then 69 cents/lb. for the pumpkins. I have never been able to justify going....although the kids do ask every year!

You certainly did Halloween much better than we did this year! What fun adventures. And the kids all looked great! (What about Ry and Kam...are they too cool to dress up already?)
