And we're home a day early!

There have been a lot of fires in Utah this summer due to the dry, hot weather. Thursday at girls camp, we noticed a HUGE amount of smoke on the other side of the mountain. There was some concern as to how close the fire was to our camp and when the bishops arrived for dinner and testimony meeting, there was a long discussion about the safety of the girls. After many tears (from the camp director and myself), another long discussion and a prayer, it was decided that it would be in everyone's best interest to pack up and head home early. The fire was not an immediate danger, but we didn't want to have parents worried all night and we knew that it might become a danger in the middle of the night. We talked to the bishops about allowing the girls to pack up and getting all ready to go and then staying up in the mountains for the testimony meeting. After checking with the forest service, they agreed and we started packing and cleaning. We had a wonderful testimony meeting and the whole week at camp was terrific. I love this part of my calling...going to girls camp and spending time with the girls & leaders, singing songs and being surrounded by beautiful nature.

Rylee and I playing a great game of "butt darts". I made it on the first try, Rylee needed a few tries before the quarter hit the bowl!

All in all, we had a great time and I am looking forward to going next year!
